Mandalay Restaurant & Café will open its new quick-service location at the Ivy City Food Works on Tuesday, June 3.
We reported earlier this month that Mandalay owner Joe Myint sought customer feedback in February about launching a delivery and takeout spot in D.C. in addition to the restaurant’s existing full-service location at 930 Bonifant Street in downtown Silver Spring.
On Saturday, Myint announced in an Instagram post that Mandalay will offer its full Burmese menu for delivery and takeout at Ivy City Food Works, located at 2000 5th St. NE and online at ivycityfoodworks.com.
Lunch will be available daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with an extended service time of 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
In addition to Mandalay, which recently received a Maryland Purple Line small business grant, the Myint family owns Bandoola Bowl at Western Market in Foggy Bottom and previously operated Sticx in Georgetown, which closed in 2023 and was subsequently replaced by Han Palace.
