Main Street Takoma’s Holiday Schedule: What’s Happening in December

Main Street Takoma has announced the “Takoma for the Holidays” shopping events scheduled for December.

The holiday shopping season begins on November 30 with Small Business Saturday and Market on the Street, a holiday market hosted by the Takoma Collective on Laurel Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Roscoe the Rooster crows bright and early on December 8 at the Pajamarama holiday shopping event. Shoppers wearing pajamas can take advantage of early morning discounts at local shops, including coffee, donuts, and breakfast items. In the afternoon, Lost Sock Roasters will present the Pajamarama Holiday Market at the Takoma Theater, featuring local artists, makers, and collectors who will offer one-of-a-kind holiday gifts outdoors.

On December 13, visitors can shop and dine under the stars at the Takoma Park Gift Market, surrounded by festive holiday lights and supporting local artists, makers, and collectors. Attendees can enjoy amenities such as cozy fire pits, tarot readings, and a new Bang Bar hosted by Scissor and Comb, offering quick holiday hair trims.

Additionally, on December 14, the Takoma Cocoa Crawl will offer a variety of cocoa options, including traditional, vegan, Mexican hot chocolate, and spiked adult versions. Retail shops will be open and offering specials during the event.

More information on these events and more is available at the Main Street Takoma website.
