Takoma Park Police Seek Leads in Armed Carjacking at Red Carpet Inn

Takoma Park Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two suspects involved in an armed carjacking and robbery at the Red Carpet Inn parking lot early Monday morning.

Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in an emailed community advisory that officers responded at approximately 3:26 a.m. Monday for the report of an armed carjacking and robbery.

The victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot when she noticed two unknown Hispanic males approaching her. One of the suspects pointed a black handgun at her while they both proceeded to pat her down, taking all of her belongings, and then stole her vehicle.

A short distance away, one of the suspects exited the stolen car and entered another unidentified make and model getaway vehicle. Both vehicles fled in the direction of New Hampshire Avenue.

Plevy said the victim was not seriously injured, and a lookout was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions.

The vehicle belonging to the victim is a green 2006 BMW 325 with Maryland license plate number #89574CL.
