Maple Avenue Road Closure: Water Main Repairs Scheduled for Wednesday Evening

Takoma Park Police have announced that a section of Maple Avenue will be closed on Wednesday evening for water main repairs.

WSSC Water will conduct repairs on Maple Avenue between Sherman and Ritchie Avenues from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday. The road will be inaccessible during the repair period, and drivers are encouraged to follow detour signs or choose alternate routes to avoid delays.

Additionally, water service will be interrupted for residents in the 7600 and 7700 blocks of Maple Avenue.

“Detours will be clearly marked, and we advise all motorists to plan alternative routes to avoid delays,” Takoma Park Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in a community advisory issued on Monday.

WSSC Water will set up a water station at Piney Branch Elementary School, 7510 Maple Ave., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for residents to collect water during the outage.
