Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Takoma Park

Takoma Park Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on May 25 in the 8000 block of Maple Avenue.

“On May 25, at approximately 10:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 8000 block of Maple Avenue for the report of an armed robbery,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in a community advisory. “The victim was walking along Flower Avenue near the intersection of Maplewood Avenue when a white compact sedan vehicle pulled up alongside her. A lone suspect exited the vehicle and pointed a black semi-automatic gun at her and demanded property; the victim complied. The suspect fled in his vehicle heading southwest on Maplewood Avenue toward Maple Avenue. The victim was not seriously physically injured during the armed robbery.”

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 5’11”, and of slim build wearing all dark clothing.
