BiBim Restaurant to Close Next Week

BiBim, the Korean restaurant at 923 Sligo Ave., will close next week, three people have told the Source.

A sign on restaurant indicating that the last day of operation will be Thursday, Dec. 28 confirms the information.

On that day, the restaurant will feature a $25 buffet and karaoke until closing.

According to a source close to the owner, the principal investor was dissatisfied with the slow rate of return that’s typical in the restaurant business and decided to pull the plug to invest elsewhere.

Owner Jung-Ah Park bought the former Sligo Café, where she worked as bar manager, in August, 2015. Park stuck with the American concept for about two months before deciding to make the change. BiBim opened in February, 2016.

Park cut back her operations earlier this month, eliminating lunch service and closing on Mondays, as well as Sunday. In addition, the domain name for BiBim’s website expired Dec. 11.
