New Bakery Will Hold Grand Opening Celebrations

Nothing Bundt Cakes, a new bakery in the Seminary Place Shopping Center, will hold its grand opening celebrations beginning Jan. 23 and culminating in a family event on Saturday, Jan. 26.

Tomorrow at 4 p.m., representatives of the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce will join owner Katheryn Hoerster for a ribbon cutting.

As part of the celebration, the bakery will donate 20 percent of its sales on Friday, Jan. 25 to Community Bridges.

The Silver Spring nonprofit “empowers girls from diverse backgrounds to become exceptional students, positive leaders, and healthy young women,” according to its website.

Finally, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the bakery will give free bundtlets for a year (one per month) to the first 50 customers.

From noon to 2 p.m. that day, there will be a “family fun event” with samples and face painting for children.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is open from 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 9462 Georgia Ave. For more information, call 301.383.8771.
