Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken Coming Soon to Briggs Chaney MarketPlace

Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken has signed a lease to open a new location at the Briggs Chaney MarketPlace.

According to The MoCo Show, the new restaurant will occupy a vacant space (#29) between Mimi’s Nails and H&R Block at 13811 Outlet Drive, which was previously home to Metro PCS.

Hangry Joe’s opened in 2020 and has grown to over 70 locations, including Wheaton, Germantown, Montgomery Village, and Rockville. The Springfield, Va.-based chain specializes in Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches, wings, waffles, and sides like loaded fries and mac and cheese.

They offer a range of spice levels, from mild to “angry hot,” the latter of which requires customers to sign a waiver.

Hangry Joe’s faces increased competition as several restaurants with similar offerings expand in the region. Dave’s Hot Chicken recently opened at the White Oak Town Center as part of its aggressive international expansion, and Aldie, Va.-based Nash & Smash is expected to open in December at the Woodmoor Shopping Center. Additionally, local favorite Roaming Rooster plans to open in Downtown Silver Spring in the coming months.
