Royal Farms Receives Construction Permits for Silver Spring Location

Construction is set to begin soon at the future Royal Farms location in Montgomery Hills.

Last year, we reported that the gas station and convenience store chain filed plans with the county to convert the existing Beltway Car Care/Sunoco service station at 9475 Georgia Ave. into a Royal Farms location.

Construction permit applications submitted in April have gained approval for the site. The MoCo Show reported on Monday that the Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services recently issued a permit valued at over $200,000, allowing modifications to begin at the new location.

Beltway Car Care is currently marked as temporarily closed on Google, and the gas station’s location information no longer appears on the Sunoco website.

Founded in 1959 by Cloverland Farms Dairy, Baltimore-based Royal Farms has rapidly expanded in recent years, with its first location in Montgomery County opening in Gaithersburg in 2022.

USA Today named the chain the country’s Best Gas Station for Food earlier this year.

There are no announced timelines for opening, and the new Silver Spring location does not appear in the “Coming Soon!” section of the Royal Farms website.
