Alleged Fight in White Oak Leaves One Dead, Gaithersburg Man Charged

A man is dead, and another faces charges after a reported fight in a White Oak apartment early Tuesday, according to Montgomery County Police.

On Tuesday, officers from the 3rd District responded to a fight at an apartment in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane at approximately 1:06 a.m. They encountered 46-year-old Wesley Cooper from Gaithersburg and found an adult male inside the apartment, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an MCPD news release.

Cooper is facing charges of second-degree assault and first-degree murder and is currently held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, awaiting a bond hearing. The deceased victim’s identity will be disclosed after informing the next of kin, MCPD said.
