Catalyst Food Truck Begins Effort to Help Fellow Truck Owner

The Catalyst Hot Dogs food truck is running a charitable promotion to assist a fellow food truck owner whose vehicle was stolen over Memorial Day weekend and found stripped a few days later, according to a post on its Facebook page.

James Turner, a restaurant veteran with more than 30 years of experience, had recently received a license from the county to begin operating as Beltway Bistro when the vehicle was taken.

The truck, which was reported missing on Memorial Day, was found in Charles County on June 3, badly damaged and completely stripped of equipment. According to reports, Turner had spent more than $50,000 on the truck.

Catalyst will donate $1 to the Beltway Bistro effort from every hot dog sold for two weeks in a campaign that began June 14.

“For those of you who weren’t with us a year ago, Catalyst is not on the road without a go fund me [sic] and your generous support,” the post reads.

Beltway Bistro hopes to be up and running in October, according to a Facebook post.
