Fuddruckers Closing; The Eleanor Plans January Opening

Fuddruckers’ last day of operation in Silver Spring will be Sunday, the Source has learned.

Laurie Yankowski, regional marketing director for The Peterson Cos., which co-owns the Downtown Silver Spring development, confirmed the burger-centric restaurant was planning to close.

However, she added, The Eleanor is planning to open in January.

Fuddruckers, located at 819 Ellsworth Dr., opened in 2008 as one of the original tenants in the redeveloped section of Silver Spring. It has been operated by several different franchisees since then, Yankowski said.

The Silver Spring restaurant was the last Fuddruckers in the county following the closing of the Rockville location in August.

The Eleanor is a combination bar, restaurant and entertainment venue that will occupy 7,700 square feet near the development’s fountain at 931 Ellsworth Dr.
