Three Metro Stations Closed for Holiday Weekend; County Offices Shut Down Monday

The Silver Spring, Forest Glen and Wheaton Metro stations will close during the upcoming holiday weekend, while the county has announced closures for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced the station closures due to Purple Line integration work. Free shuttle buses will operate between the Takoma and Glenmont stations.

County offices, state offices and libraries will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for the holiday.

The Recreation Department’s administrative office, senior centers and community centers also will be closed. Aquatics programs and facilities will be open while all other classes and programs have been canceled.
