The owners of HouseMouse Books & Vintage, indigro plant design, and Cheeky’s Vintage have collaborated to open Laurel Leaf in Takoma Park this Saturday.
The store is located in the former Takoma Park Vision Center and features a carefully selected assortment of plants, used books, furniture, and décor in a friendly, stylish atmosphere.
The women-owned shop specializes in mid-century modern furnishings and offers a variety of items, including furniture, home décor, lighting, barware, dinnerware, art, and more. Its selection of used books is thoughtfully curated, sustainably sourced, and affordably priced, with special collections focused on Nature, Folklore, Spirituality, and Local History.
Additionally, Laurel Leaf stocks a variety of houseplants and local handmade pottery. Customers can use plant design services, repotting support, and a playful plant bar to find inspiration with different vessels, plants, and accents.
In addition to its retail offerings, Laurel Leaf will host various engaging events, including plant workshops and HouseMouse’s immersive Escape the Bookshop experience.
“All of these elements are brought together in a wonderful new space that is integrated, inviting and charming,” said Main Street Takoma executive director Laura Barclay.
Laurel Leaf is located at 6919 Laurel Ave. in Takoma Park and online at laurelleaftakoma.com. The store’s hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
