Police are investigating several thefts reported in the last week in Takoma Park, according to emailed community advisories:
Theft From Auto: On June 5, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue for the report of a theft from an auto. Sometime between June 4 at 10:00 p.m. and June 5 in the morning, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and cut the lock on the rear storage box, and stole property. Case #220024044
Stolen Auto: On June 5, at approximately 9:55 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of Hancock Avenue for the report of a stolen auto. The victim parked the vehicle in the unit block of Lee Avenue on June 4 at approximately 10:30 p.m. and noticed it missing on June 5 at 9:30 a.m. The outstanding stolen vehicle is described as a 2020 Jeep Gladiator, MD Tag #2EF7801. Theft of Bicycles: On June 5, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of Hancock Avenue for a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim indicated that two mountain bikes were stolen from the front porch of their residence sometime between June 4 at 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on June 5. One bike was described as dark blue and the other white and purple. Case #220024077
Theft of Bicycle: On June 6, Takoma Park Police responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue for a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim indicated that a bike was stolen from the front porch of their residence sometime between June 4 at 6:00 p.m. and June 5 at 9:00 a.m. Case #220024249
Theft From Auto: On June 6, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue for the report of a theft from an auto. Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle through an open back window and stole property. Case #220023401
Theft From Auto: On June 9, at approximately 12:51 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6700 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of a theft from an auto. Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole property. Case #220024759
Theft From Auto: On June 10, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue for the report of a theft from an auto. Sometime between June 8 and 10 (unknown time), unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle by unknown means and stole property. Case #220024952
