Police, Fire Accepting Toy Drive Donations

Police and firefighters in Takoma Park are teaming up again for their annual toy drive, according to a city announcement.

“The Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department and the Takoma Park Police Department are teaming up again for the annual first responder toy drive,” the announcement reads. “Donations are appreciated in the form of a new and unwrapped toy or gift cards.

“Due to the lingering effects of COVID and the hardships it has created, this year, our toy to children ratio is low, so your continued generosity and support are appreciated.”

Donations can be dropped off through Monday, December 20 at the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department at 7201 Carroll Ave., or the Takoma Park Police Department at 7500 Maple Ave.

Families that would like to receive toys or gifts can obtain application forms at the city’s website.
