Today’s continuing high winds are taking down area trees and, in some cases, power lines, causing damage and disrupting traffic.
A high-impact storm is moving through the area through Saturday, leaving downed trees, power lines and numerous cancellations in its wake.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for central and southeast Montgomery County until 10 p.m. this evening.
Heavy rainfall, flooding and storm damage hit the Silver Spring area over the last 24 hours, with more forecasted to come later today.
