The Takoma Park Street Festival, postponed due to Hurricane Ian, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma.
Delfeayo Marsalis of the well-known Marsalis family of jazz musicians and his band, the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, will headline the 17th edition of the Silver Spring Jazz Festival, officials announced.

The same night, Bud Skeleton & Friends will be at the American Legion, and the Legion will host Garage Rock Night on Saturday. The YMCA will lead a walk along the Purple Line route Saturday morning. The annual Takoma Park Street Festival will be held on Sunday, and policy-minded folks can attend a Subdivision Staging Policy workshop on Monday evening.
The first Long Branch Festival begins Friday night, Sept. 20, for a weeklong celebration of the neighborhoods, businesses and culture of the area, according to organizers. “The purpose of the Long Branch Festival is to celebrate the dynamic neighborhood, businesses and culture of Long Branch,” according to the festival website. “Our goal is to bring communities together and celebrate our diversity, expand understanding of the crucial role of shared public spaces and highlight the value of locally owned stores.
