The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, with the help of U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-8th District), will receive $300,000 in federal funds to support economic development in downtown Silver Spring, the organization announced.
The Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District is asking for the public to fill out a survey to help guide the district as it goes through the process of getting a second 10-year redesignation from the state.
Summer at Silver Spring’s Veterans Plaza will once again be filled with festivals, according to a tweet from Eric Rasch, operations manager. Twenty-two festivals are scheduled beginning May 1 through Sept. 25, highlighted by the Silver Spring Jazz Fest on Sept. 10.
The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County is accepting applications from up-and-coming BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) leaders in arts administration for its Emerging Leaders Coaching Cohort program, which will begin in March.
