Detectives Seek Public Help to Identify Armed Robbery Suspects

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are seeking public help to identify three suspects in an armed robbery in downtown Silver Spring.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the 8800 block of Colesville Road.

The victim, a 61-year-old man, reported that he was entering his apartment building when the suspects, one of whom had a handgun, approached him.

“The suspects stole the victim’s property, to include his car keys,” according to a department press release. “The suspects located the victim’s vehicle in a nearby parking lot and fled the area in the victim’s car.”

The car was later located on 22nd Street in Southeast, Washington, D.C., the announcement reads.

The department has released a photo and surveillance video of the suspects and asks anyone who can help to call detectives in the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240.773.6870.
