Silver Spring Timebank to sponsor skills share event

The Silver Spring Timebank is sponsoring a skills share event Jan. 8 from 2-5 p.m. in the Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veteran’s Plaza.

Billed as an opportunity to learn something new in the new year, the afternoon includes talks from Timebank members as well as “ask the expert” tables. Attendees at the free event are welcome to drop in at anytime, or spend the entire three hours listening and learning.

The talks are scheduled for 15 minutes each and will cover topics such as decluttering, resumé writing tips, self defense, energy efficiency tips for residences and others.

The “ask the expert” tables will have Timebank members who attendees can question on subject such as sewing and mending, knitting and crocheting, cooking tips, how to help a child learning to read, swing dancing, social media basics, fitness and wellness, and more.
