UPDATED: Police: Silver Spring Teen Missing Since Jan. 26

UPDATE: Montgomery County Police tweeted that Maria Eduarda Soares Tavira has been located safe and unharmed.

Detectives from the county’s Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year-old from Silver Spring.

Maria Eduarda Soares Tavira was last seen on Thursday, Jan. 26, in the 12900 block of Holdridge Road at approximately 7 a.m., according to MCPD.

Tavira is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She has a nose piercing and was last seen wearing all-black clothing.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Maria Eduarda Soares Tavira is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line) or the Special Victims Investigations Division at (240) 773-5400. Callers may remain anonymous.
