Police Release Surveillance Video of Suspect in Double Burglary

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video in connection with the May 13 burglaries at the Solaire 8250 Apartment Complex, and a Clark Construction building site in the 8200 block of Dixon Avenue, both in downtown Silver Spring.

“At approximately 4:25 a.m. [on May 13], 3rd District officers responded to the Solaire Apartment Complex for the report of a burglary that just occurred,” MCPD said in a news release. “The investigation by detectives has determined that at approximately 4:02 a.m., the suspect entered the apartment building through a rear door. The suspect then accessed the mailroom [in] an unknown manner and began loading packages into a cart. When an employee entered the mailroom, the suspect fled the scene through a rear door.

“At about 4:18 p.m. the same day, the suspect used an unknown tool to enter a building in the Clark Construction Site. Once inside, the suspect stole miscellaneous tools and property prior to fleeing the scene.

“Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras in the apartment building, as well as the construction site, and obtained a physical description of the suspect.”

MCPD said that the suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-feet-tall, and 175 pounds. He was wearing a hooded jacket, baseball cap, blue jogging pants, and black shoes. When entering the Clark Construction Site, the suspect appears to have put on a winter jacket of an unknown color.
