Tacos, Tortas & Tequila to Close Nov. 29

Ivan Iricanin, the restaurateur behind Silver Spring’s Tacos, Tortas & Tequila, will close that location on Nov. 29, according to a report in the Washingtonian.

Iricanin placed the blame largely on the loss of Discovery’s headquarters in 2018, with an assist from the pandemic.

“Our lunch and happy hour was basically all Discovery,” he told writer Anna Spiegel. ‘We had that loss, which was hard to recover, and then we got COVID.”

The restaurant opened in May 2018 on the ground floor of 8407 Ramsey Ave. A sister concept, Buena Vida, opened on the second level with an expanded menu of more upscale offerings.

Iricanin abandoned the Buena Vida concept in August 2020 in favor of offering the TTT menu throughout the restaurant.

Later, the menu was changed to offer all-you-can-eat options daily.

The Clarendon TTT will remain open, according to the Washingtonian article.
