Easterseals Announces New Director of Cohen Clinic in Silver Spring

Easterseals DC MD VA has promoted Silver Spring resident Dr. Anneke Vandenbroek, Ph.D., ABPP to director of the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals, the organization announced.

Vandenbroek was the deputy director of the clinic, which is one of country’s 16 Cohen Veterans Network mental health clinics. The clinics provide veteran and military families with behavioral health services.

“I am thrilled to step into the role of director for the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals,” Vandenbroek said in a press release. “As a veteran, I appreciate the importance of ‘leave no man behind.’ By caring for the behavioral health of veterans and families, I have been able to fulfill this mission throughout my career. At this time, we are facing unique challenges in our community due to the pandemic, and increased need for services.”

Vandenbroek is a board-certified licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working with military service members in the treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders, and other behavioral health disorders.

Prior to the Cohen Clinic, she worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for eight years in numerous roles including director of the Adult Outpatient Rotation Clinical Internship Program, clinical psychologist and faculty member.

Vandenbroek also worked with the Tripler Army Medical Center as chief of the Behavioral Health Consultation Service. While on active duty with the U.S. Army, she served as the division psychologist for the 25th Infantry.
