Arts Council Issues Call for Works on Paper

The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County has issued a call for submissions of works to be considered for addition to the county’s Contemporary Works on Paper Collection.

The council is specifically looking to purchase original, unframed, two-dimensional works such as paintings and drawings in various media, photographs, mixed media and limited-edition prints.

The selections will be juried by the Public Arts Trust, which is particularly interested in works of contemporary and modern style and those that “reflect the unique and diverse character of Montgomery County.”

Artists from the county and the metropolitan area are eligible to enter up to five submissions priced at no more than $1,500 each. There is no fee for submitting works and no expenses will be reimbursed.

The arts council recently was awarded a $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts’ Art Works Grant Program, which is supporting this call for submissions.

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 26. The complete call, guidelines and entry application can be downloaded here.
