“Nestled in the mountains of New Hampshire, the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth stewards a collection of more than 65,000 objects from across time and cultures. One particular area of collection strength is the Native American historic and contemporary collections. Join this virtual tour to learn about the creative ways Native American artists express connection to land and place through innovative use of materials such as beads, porcupine quills, evergreen plants, sweetgrass, glass and buffalo horn, to name a few. We will look at both contemporary and historic works during this tour to see how Native American artists both connect to the past and develop new ways of seeing and making for the future.“
