Art & Mindfulness: Coping with Pandemic Stress

Join us for a 5-week series of art and mindfulness sessions in a new group designed to help participants cope with pandemic-related stress.
Led by art therapist Merry Urbia, each weekly gathering will have a particular focus to explore, primarily through art and mindfulness practices, also incorporating guided movement and writing.
While exercises will be chosen with the week’s theme in mind, group members’ concerns will shape the experience. Themes are designed to build one upon another, but participants will still benefit even if a session is missed. No prior skill or art experience is needed to participate.
Each weekly session will follow a similar schedule:
Brief check-in and Mindfulness practice. Introduction to theme with poetry/music and discussion (35 min.)
Artmaking to further explore personal associations (50-55 min.)
Time to reflect, share and closing practice (30 min)
