Winter Storm Toby is currently moving through the area, which is predicted to leave as much as 6 to 7 inches of snow in Silver Spring, according to the National Weather Service.

The gas station at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road that closed recently in preparation for construction of a new Residence Inn has reopened temporarily.
Construction is scheduled to begin next week on two new apartment buildings at the Flower Branch Apartments, 8701 and 8703 Arliss St. in Long Branch.
