Tomorrow is the last day for early voting in the general election at the county’s 10 early voting locations, including the Silver Spring Civic Building.

“As of close of early voting on Nov. 1, we had 114,116 registered voters vote,” said Marjorie Roher, public information officer for the Montgomery County Board of Elections, “which is approximately 15 percent of our entire voting population.

“Specific to Silver Spring, we have seen so far 15,654 people come out to that location,” she continued. “In 2014, the total number in the general election for Silver Spring was 5,854.”

Roher added that numbers from specific sites in the 2012 general election early voting wasn’t readily available for comparison.

She said in past elections, Silver Spring has been the largest early voting location in the state, though this year, there’s some competition in Prince George’s County.

“In Montgomery County, [Silver Spring] is still showing as the most popular early voting center,” Roher said, but added that a couple of other early voting centers have seen their numbers coming closer to Silver Spring’s totals.

Early voting ends at 8 p.m. tonight and runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow. Voters can find wait times for voting in the civic building at www.777vote.org.

“The last person in line tomorrow night at 8 o’clock will still be able to vote,” she said, “but if you walk into a center after 8, you’re not going to be able to vote.”

Of course, voters can go to their polling place on Election Day, and Roher had some advice for those people

“If there’s any way you can avoid going first thing in the morning, you’re going to be a happier voter,” she said. “We are going to have lines first thing in the morning.”

Early voting results will be released shortly after 8 p.m. on Election Day. Unofficial results from Election Day itself will be available at 9 p.m. and be updated every 30 minutes.
