Pepco Work to Close Portion of Fenton Street Beginning Thursday

A Pepco contractor is scheduled to start work that will cause the closure of Fenton Street from New York Avenue to Takoma Avenue beginning Thursday, Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m., according to an email circulated by Dr. Brad Stewart, Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus vice president and provost. Maryland Transit Administration graphic Residents in the area near the construction of the Plymouth Street tunnel from Wayne Avenue to Arliss Street can expect blasting to begin next week, according to a notice from the Purple Line Transit Partners. “Rock conditions vary in the tunnel area and the team strives to control blasting to only when needed,” the notice said. Park Valley Road to Close Tomorrow for Bridge Replacement
