Arts Council to Host Opening Reception Tonight

Graphic from Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County The Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County will host a public reception tonight (July 6) for the opening of a new exhibit, “Free Space,” in the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room of the Silver Spring Civic Building. Fireworks Show to Close Takoma Park Independence Day Celebration

Photo from Wikimedia Commons A fireworks show at Takoma Park Middle School will close the 129th Takoma Park Independence Day celebration tomorrow. The school at 7611 Piney Branch Rd. is also the site of the evening program that starts at 7 p.m. The celebration will include performances from Elena & Los Fulanos (a bilingual folk-rock band), AcroAirs from Washington Adventist University and the Takoma Park Community Band conducted by Marcia Diehl.
