Qdoba on Colesville Permanently Closed

Qdoba Mexican Eats on Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring has permanently closed, according to a sign posted on the front door. A view from the street shows an empty store, the fixtures and equipment gone. The sign indicates that at least some of the staff may have gone on to work at other locations; the closest ones are on Tech Road off of U.S. 29 north, and in Rockville and Hyattsville. Ellsworth Place Officially Under New Management

Ellsworth Place in downtown Silver Spring is officially under new management and ownership, according to a post on the mall’s Facebook page. GBT Realty Corp., based in Brentwood, Tenn., has taken over the shopping center at 8661 Colesville Rd. following the sale of the building, announced in July. Petri Richardson Ventures put the center formerly known at City Place on the market in May of 2017. Pennyworth Shop to Close on Weekdays

As of Nov. 15, the Pennyworth Thrift Shop on Bonifant Street will no longer be open on weekdays, according to board member Grace Shirey. Saturday hours will be from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. as the shop prepares to move from 949 Bonifant St. to the basement of Grace House on the grounds of Grace Episcopal Church at 1607 Grace Church Rd. PollySue’s Vintage Shop in Takoma Park will close at the end of the year, according to an announcement from the owner that was shared by Main Street Takoma. Lina’s Diner and Bar locked its doors for good after the close of business Saturday (Nov. 3), according to owner Juancarlo Parkhurst. “As nice as people were and as well received as it was, it just didn’t have enough traffic to make it a financially viable venture,” Parkhurst said about the restaurant at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Bonifant Street.
