Permit Issued to Chase Bank for Georgia Avenue Location

A building permit has been issued to JPMorgan Chase Bank for interior alterations as the company apparently prepares to open a branch at 8435 Georgia Ave. Chase Bank is the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of the parent company, JPMorgan Chase & Co., offering personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. A Texas transplant soon will open a specialty cake store at 9462 Georgia Ave. in the Seminary Place Shopping Center. A pair of veterans of Adega Wine Cellars in downtown Silver Spring will take over the space and open a similar café. Pennyworth Shop to Open Two More Days on Bonifant

Pennyworth Thrift Shop will be open for two more shopping days before shutting down in preparation for an eventual move to the basement of Grace House on the grounds of Grace Episcopal Church at 1607 Grace Church Rd. A new restaurant called Krazy Steve’s is apparently in the works in the space on Seminary Road formerly occupied by Armand’s Chicago Pizzeria. According to the (unconfirmed) word on the street, “Krazy Steve” is a former Armand’s staff person who intends to offer some form of comfort food in the new outlet. The operator has applied for a Class D alcohol license to permit sales of beer and wine for both on-premise consumption and carry out.
