Walgreen’s will open a location at 1015 Ripley St. in a new space next to Silver Cycles. According to a worker on the site, this will be a pharmacy-only store. PJ’s Coffee plans to open outlet on Georgia Avenue

Photo by David Lay. PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans plans to open an outlet on the ground floor of Core apartments at 8621 Georgia Ave., its first in Maryland. The company was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan and uses only 100 percent Arabica beans sourced from fourteen countries, according its website. Its outlets offer a wide variety of coffee and tea drinks, including cold-brewed coffee, “a process pioneered by our founder,” the site says. ALDI opens its new grocery store on Georgia Avenue

Customers began lining up well before dawn to be among the first to enter the new ALDI grocery at 9440 Georgia Ave. during its grand opening this morning. Following a ribbon cutting, the doors were opened for business. The first 100 customers received ALDI gift cards in various amounts. Employees also gave out eco-friendly shopping bags, and customers could register for a drawing to win free produce for a year. Roadhouse Oldies closing after more than 40 years
